In the summer of 1995, a pitiless war spread across the Congo, tearing its people and land to shreds. In less than a year, nearly 4 million were killed by bullets or disease or hunger or exhaustion from their flight from combat. The war in the Congo is but one of a series of wars in which Western powers have been involved since the mid-1970s. In this documentary, a handful of eyewitnesses speak to George, and they describe how their countries became involved with the Congolese people's plight.
